How to compare golf course software

Golf course software has to run the tee sheet, the clubhouse, the turn, the beverage cart, and the books. This checklist lists what to ask any vendor, item by item. Each comparison page puts Partake next to another vendor, citing that vendor’s own public pages.

The buyer checklist

Take these questions to every vendor, including us. Ask them to show you each one on screen.

  1. Tee sheet and online booking

Ask whether golfers book online against the same sheet the shop runs, or through a separate booking engine. Check rates by season and player type, standing times for leagues, a waitlist, and whether staff can take payment on the tee time.

  2. Food and beverage POS

Ask which devices the POS runs on and how it handles the clubhouse, the turn, the beverage cart, and banquets. Check tabs, tables, comps and voids, and splitting a check by seat or item.

  3. Kitchen display

Ask whether orders reach the kitchen on screens, printers, or both, and whether items route by station. For a dining room, ask how meal courses fire.

  4. On-course ordering to the tee time

Ask whether golfers can order from their phone during the round, where the order goes, and whether staff see it on the same POS. Check if it needs a separate app or partner.

  5. Group ordering and split checks online

Ask whether a foursome or a table can order together from their own phones, and how they pay: each for their own items, split evenly, or one person covering.

  6. Member charges

Ask how a member charge is looked up and posted, where the member ledger lives, and whether it works with the club system you already use for billing.

  7. Food cost and purchasing

Ask whether food cost comes from recipes against actual sales, and whether purchase orders, invoices, counts, and waste live in the same system as the POS or in an add-on.

  8. Guest CRM and email/text

Ask whether one guest record holds both tee times and food orders, and whether you can send email and text from the same system.

  9. AI assistant

Ask what the AI can actually do: answer questions from live data, change settings, or only build reports. Ask whether it confirms before it changes anything.

  10. Payments

Ask who processes cards, whether you can bring your own processor, which readers work, and whether online and in-person payments settle in one place.

  11. Accounting integration

Ask which accounting systems are supported, whether data syncs automatically or by file export, and what posts: sales, payouts, member charges.

  12. Course-branded golfer site

Ask whether golfers book and order on your course’s own site and domain, or on a vendor-branded marketplace or app they must download.

Compare Partake with other vendors

Each page walks the checklist, says where the other vendor may be a better fit, and lists its sources.

Frequently asked questions

How should a golf course compare software?
Start with how the day actually runs: the tee sheet, the clubhouse and the turn, the beverage cart, member charges, and the books. Take the checklist on this page to every vendor and ask each one to show you, not tell you.
Does Partake integrate with foreUP, Lightspeed Golf, Club Prophet, Toast, Square, Clubessential, or ForeTees?
No. Partake is not an integration with any of them. Partake’s integrations are Stripe for payments, QuickBooks for accounting, and Golf365 (EZ Links) for member charges.
Where do the details about other vendors come from?
Each comparison cites the vendor’s own public website or help center, with the date we read it. Where we couldn’t confirm something, the table says “Ask the vendor”.
Which payments does Partake use?
Partake runs on Stripe: cards online, Apple Pay and Google Pay, cards on file, and Stripe Terminal readers in person.
